I prefer the regular one instead as this seems too dry for certain recipes. Although I must say, if making a vermicelli laddu or fritters the fried one saves time. The color is too dark and I find the smell to be some what strong and my kids will agree with that I think :-)
If you are looking to make Sweet Savai the roasted version is very good, since it is roasted it does not smell of oil and is also obvoiusly much healthier.
Mtr brand vermicelli is very good for variety of dishes like kheer,pulao and other quick fixes.you can save time by using roasted variety but the color is about too deep.
